Hello,
I currently have an intel DQ965CO which is BTX. I have an E6600 installed which is fine at idle 34 C. But when I game I have to use an external cooling fan Thats right like a room fan aimed at my open case. This sucks I hate it and i'm now sure I need to buy a new motherboard and cpu cooler. I've looked into BTX CPU coolers but they're massive!

So basically I need a motherboard and cpu fan for about £80.

Could you guys help me out with a spec please?

Thanks for your reply

Is there much difference between the OCUk you've mentioned and the others around the same price e.g.

I've got a pretty simple set up

PSU: Corsair 550 W
CPU: E6600
GPU: X1950 pro with Zalman Cooler
RAM: 1 GIG (2 x 512) Corsair 6400
2 GIG (2 x 1 Gig) Coarsair 6400

HDD: 80 GB Sata connected generic HDD

On my case at the moment i've got 2 usbs, a green headphone sock and a rec one for a mic. Would it be possible to find a motherboard which would still let those slots work as I use heaphones for gaming.

Thanks Joe

Have you considered the MM for a 2nd hand board. Get a better board for the same money.

There's presently a Gigabyte P35 DS3P with over 2 years warranty remaining.

It's within your budget and would allow a further £15 or so for a cooler... might even find a good cooler there too! ;)

thanks I've just posted on that thread. I think it seems a good deal. never bought on the MM before. Will it suit my purpose.

Just spotted you'd found it and came back here to say yes! Only thing to check would be that your case accepts ATX boards (unless you already have an ATX case to throw it in).

I've dealt with Cob before - he's a trusted buyer and seller and i'd have no hesitation in recommending him.

That board should clock very well too. I've had the exact same board and clocked e6600's to 3.6ghz with ease. Even my old q6600 B3 clocked to 3ghz on stock volts. It's also well featured and runs super cool - even when clocked up. Northbridge heatsink was only ever warm to the touch... much cooler than my X38's heatsink let me tell you!

Ok my view is a tad biased here, but that board would be grand for your purpose (you did ask me to post my views :) ).
