DivFix for Mp3

If your familiar with DivFix, it fixes partial or corrupt Avi files so that you can view them

is there an alternative for mp3s? I have a corrupt/partially dloaded mp3 file, and id like to play the part i have

If you just rename it to mp3 (if it isn't already) it should play provided the first part of the file is present. Bits of the song which haven't downloaded will be silent.

If you can compress the file through properties / winrar etc you can see how much of it you do or dont have. If it compresses a lot the file will probably be unplayable.

Do mp3s have a header like AVIs?

I can tell im missing the first part of this!

You could try opening it in a audio editing package like Wavlab, and edit it yourself.
