hey, i am a noobie overclocker :D , anyways, i have always ran CPU and RAM in 1:1, but i want to get more out of my CPU now, but the divider dont work. I set it to 200mhz (ram) but then it still trys to run 1:1 with my CPU.

Am i rite in thinking this is the divider.. (i kno it is running at auto atm, becoz is et it like taht for now...untill ig et it sorted.)

If your using ddr 400 mem and you set the divider to 200mhz you are basically running the ram at its suggested speed. If your at 225mhz because of your CPU clock then knock the divider down to 166. That will bring down your mem speed. What multiplier are you set to?

It does if you use a divider.

Only prob is that if you use the next available divider 166, you run your mem underclocked @ about 175.

So you are running about 2500mhz for the cpu?

try 245 fsb x 10multi keeps similer cpu speed. Then your mem's at about 200mhz on a 166 divider. Like it should be. :)

Only a few mhz down on the original cpu clock but mem's up and running at optimal speed meaning overall a faster system!!

wow wow wow, thats a a lot to take in lol

i am running at around 2.5, but iw ant to go furtehr thats y i started using a divider. But will this work?

Overclock my CPU to 235 (about 2.6), then set divider to 166, so then my ram will be running at about 166+35(m i correct in thinking that?).

only using a 166 divider and 10multi which brings it down to a fraction over 200. Should be fine like that.

Did you get the program? If you are trying to clock the cpu even higher knock down the divider even further so you can concentrate on finding where your max stable point is with the cpu. Stick with stock voltages and read the oc guide before you go anywhere with voltages.

Infact get some of the programs downloaded from the guide and run them to check stability.

Cant stress enough that you should read the guide, I have tried to explain the basics but you will probably get a better idea from reading through the guide in all honesty. I picked up on the basic's from the guide to begin with and suggest you do the same. :)
