Purchased this at the weekend, was wondering what people's thoughts were on it. First impressions are actually not that good, my guy seems to run stupidly fast, it kinda feels like they just got the animation of someone running and then set speed of the charater at mach 5.

Any mods that people reccomend?

I'm enjoying it after having a really good crack at it earlier. Its very unforgiving though right at the start and when enemies outlevel you they really slaughter you so you've gotta remember to save often or you can lose tonnes of progression ;(

The best single player RPG for me. Some of the sights are totally stunning. It's hard and the world is big with a good story, keep plugging away at it.

Put quite a few hours into this now as its got me hooked. The storyline is seriously good and the changes in the landscape which go along with the storyline are seriously good. The dragon implementation is seamless and really keeps things interesting and the difficulty never lets up. Playing through on normal as a warrior and have died a daft amount of times, which has really made me wise to saving often now, even though its a bit laborious to do so...

The mindreading skill is one of the best things I've seen in an RPG to date and makes massive differences to the gameplay as you can go mad with it and get yourself into XP debt (as it costs XP to use) or use it very sparingly on "cheaper" targets and potentially do things the hard way.

Example being I could read the mind of a guard who turns out is thinking about how hes gonna smuggle some drugs out of the training camp hes stationed in, then using that knowledge when you click on finish mindreading, you can blackmail him into doing your quest easily and without spending gold or doing mundane rubbish.

I'd quite happily spend £30 on this and not look back as its just superb. Easily one of the best games I've ever played. Can't believe I never heard of it until a steam sale :S

To add to this further, just completed the ego draconis game (which is the first one) and absolutely loved it and didn't see the ending coming at all. Took me 28 hours to go through it and I missed a tonne of quests (sadly) which would have eaten up more playtime. Best thing about this game is though, I've now got the second part to go through :D

Started it earlier and it starts literally right off the back of the other games main storyline with massive revelations and consequences of what happened in the first game. Can't import your character across, even though you start at lv 35 in the sequel, but the storyline does explain why you lose your gear and equipment and changing gender etc (if you choose to) is part of the game via the illusionists anyway.

Out of all of the many games I've played through recently, including dragon age origins + exp, dead space 2, portal 2, duke nukem forever, FEAR 3, Red faction armageddon and fall out new vegas... this really does wipe the floor with them in regards to single player story telling.

BUY IT

It's been a little while since I played this game but im pretty sure if you have the Dragon Knight saga ,you can carry on in Flames of vengeance with your character from the the original game as long as you completed the main quest ,or at least i think I did .

Anyway good game if you stick with it and well worth the money once you get passed the wierd animation and movement .
