Hi,

I encode a lot of movies to DIVX for my media player, I am currently use autogk to encode. Having moved from a C2D to a Quad I see no improvement in encoding times :( CPU usage rarely goesa over 50%

Is anybody using any encoding software that utilises a quad?
Thanks

For me (when i had my quad core @ 3.2GHz) AutoGK used all four cores and the total cpu usage was between 70 & 90%.

I could encode a 2 hour movie to xvid at 75% quality in 33 minutes :)

Mediacoder is also a multithreaded transcoder which I use for various vids but these days I tend to settle for Handbrake and DVDFlick for transcode requirements :D

For those that are using handbrake - what settings do you usually use for movies? Or do you just use the presets? Any decent guides out there?

I'd like to move to Handbrake as AutoGK has stopped development (i think) - but i haven't the slightest what the best settings to use are.
