What's it doing then.
220 ohm resistor into a 5k potentiometer into a medium power transistor, something like a BD135 perhaps?
What sort of voltage range do you get on it?
Did you do the PCB yourself?

Sorry if I mislead you with the title :\ it is a PCB from a fan controller that used to fit into a slot at the back of the pc but because I only have 2 slots and they are both full I had to mount it coming out of the grommet at the back. This is more of a temporary solution until I get new fans and a new case because these fans are very loud at (or near) max rpm but I have them high when geming to keep my system cool
