DIY Garden gate 1.3m wide

Looking to make a garden gate to separate the good part of the garden from the working part.

I have had a measure and the gap is around 1.3m is that too wide for a gate around 3ft6 in height? The gate will be hinged from a fence post screwed into the house exterior wall, was planning on using 2x4 for the frame as I have some of that lying around, or should I look at 2x6?

I have looked and seems to be the diagonal needs to be the right way it should go I think from the top right down to the bottom left if the gate is hinged on the left?

Yes I know I have mixed metric and imperial but that is the way my brain works for some things.

Was going to use feather board as we have a bunch left over from a fencing project, just need to dig it out and check on the quality of it.

Using 2 x 4 as the hinge anchor on the wall side is easier as don't need to get a long drill bit for the 4x4 post.
