DIY SFF PSU/UPS

TLA Ahoy!!!

This could be the biggest tumbleweed thread ever but here goes...mods I've no idea what could possibly be the right forum for this thread

Could you couple the following together:

1) A 12V/1300mAh lead-acid battery - $15

2) PicoUPS - $30

3) PicoPSU - $60

Stick it all together and for $100 you basically have a mini PSU/UPS system for your SFF pc made of win?

I know nothing about electronics but this seemed like something fun to do

Judging by the fact that the PicoPSU has a peak output of 120W. You better be running a GameBoy.

120w PicoPSU will happily run a dual core atom / ion board, hdd, odd and memory. I used a smaller 90w on an original Atom single core / intel GMA board and the GMA chip pulled so much power it nullified the point of the Atom processor.

Hm so reading around I'd probably need 2 x batteries and the picoPSU that takes 12v-24v. Might be a cool project though

And yeah, net-tops like the ASRock ION max out a 40W IIRC!
