DJ headphone recommendations

Senny HD 280's. Almost purchased these when i got my HD 25's. A few people on another forum I use rave about them.

they look nice, is it worth spending the extra on the hd25s though? i'd use them just for listening to tunes etc too not just DJing

i've had quality headphones before (Grado SR225s) so know how they should sound :p

I went with the 25's in the end because all the parts are replaceable. The cable is too short for me really at 1.5m, I would prefer a longer coiled cable.

Best thing to do is try a few on for size if possible before you decide which pair to get.

the 25's are lot of money :( what about the cut down versions? 25SPs i think they are

25SP are great too.. the 25 have slightly better overall sound quality and tighter bass but not worth the extra £££ imho for DJing (i own both). I actually prefer the way that the cups on the 25sp can swivel completely for DJing, they are so comfortable when you are only listening with a single ear. You won't regret it !

thanks - i will go for the 25SPs i think :) now gotta wait til im paid

do you notice tighter beatmatching when using better phones?

Same as above 25sp's.

As for better beatmatching, that comes from knowing your setup and records. Things might sound better and thus match better, but I wouldn't put it all down to phones :)

at the moment when i have them at a good volume to hear both tracks over the main speakers, they rattle like hell, i presume even though the HD25SPs look spindly they can blow your ears off yeah?
