DJ or play list

Woner what the OC thought of this. Getting married soon and the only thing im really incharge of is getting the music for the night do sorted.
Do i go for a DJ or make a play list on my laptop hire in the speakers and lights and just use my laptop to provide the music.
The thing that puts me off DJ's is generally they talk crap and play crapish music. But then if i make a play list then i can see down sides to that to.
What would you do
 
Depends what type of DJ too?

If you have a younger crowd there id say DJ, but have an "actual" DJ, not a 70 year old man playing random ppfftt and dribbling down a mic.

Get him to do some electro type thing, nothign too niche that people may know?

If older id say your playlist and have what you want.
 
Get a band. Failing that, get a DJ who doesn't usually do kids parties/work dos. You can always request music that the DJ plays.
 
I was getting my mates band to play but the singer is getting married the day before so that was a no go.
It will be a mix really. obviously it has to have some dance stuff in there but would like 70'80 90's stuff in there to and not just the now 69 cd like you get at someplaces
 
id get a dj just for the fact he can do requests etc for people

if you dont want em to talk crap then tell them not to talk crap ! theyl do whatever you want since its you paying
