dlans tripping switch

I have 2 Cisco PLS300, one in each bedroom which connect to a Cisco PLE300 downstairs which is cabled into the adsl router.

This setup has been working fine for about a year and half fine, then this evening the main power switch keeps tripping, which means the plugs and lights go off. When the lights get switched back on they work fine but as soon as the sockets are switched on the main switch gets tripped immediately or within 20 mins.

So we unplugged everything to track down the source and it seems to be working fine now that i've unplugged the dlan connectors and I'm wired directly into the adsl router

Has anyone else had problems with dlan connectors tripping their switch ? :(

Get your electrics checked

My fuse board is a spilt load one, I have mcb's (Miniature Circuit Breakers) for each circuit, lights power, etc, & the ring mains, shower, are also protected by a 30 millamp RCD (Residual Circuit Breaker), protection against electrocution.
Have used Dlans for over a year without any problems & I never get any issues with nusiance tripping.

It could a coincidence with the dlans & fuses tripping, with you thinking dlans are the problem, is the wiring old, increase fire risk with old wiring, & not so old dodgy wiring, when did you have it check & tested?

Should be tested every 10 years, I've been to houses were the wiring hasn't been tested in 30 years or more.

The following is a list of what the testing covers.

Continuity of (cpc) & Earth conductors.
Continuity of the ring circuits.
Polarity.
Installation resistance of conductors.
Earth loop impedance test to determine the quality of your earthing.
Testing of RCDs to check that they do trip at the correct time & current rating
Functional switching and Isolation,to insure the switches actually switch the live conductor and not the Neutral.
