DLink Internet Connection Status Red?

Hi

I've recently purchased a DLink DSL-2740B, Firmware 2.51 running under Vista. All works very well. It's connected to my PC via LAN and my ISP is Pipex.

I dual boot Vista and XP, so yesterday I set up the router via the Quick Install disk under XP, and again it all seems to run fine.

However, since the XP configuration the Internet Connection status icon on the front of the router is a solid red, indicating no internet connection. As I have been connected to the interweb for a day, via both Vista and XP, I can assure you this is incorrect!

Even the router admin console shows a status of internet connected.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

The router & PC have been restarted numerous times.

Thanks
Simon

I think I've resolved the issue without having to do a factory reset, which I wanted to avoid. DLink support went straight down that route.

The problem appears to have been caused by having two PVC settings.

Listed within the HTML Config interface under Advanced --> Advanced ADSL were two PPPoA PVC entries, both the same. These must have been created by the first Vista install and then the second XP install.

Deleting the second of these immediately corrected the status light issue. I assume that as you can't have two PVC entries for the same connection type then this caused an internal conflict, but as they were identical and therefore both worked, the actual WAN internet connection was still viable.
