Well GN has posted a video about all this:
I don't know how you can claim that, DLSS 4.5 is better than native resolution usually. Can we now finally accept that people who use DLSS don’t actually care about graphics?
That might have been your takeaway but that wasn’t what I saying or implying.I don't know how you can claim that, DLSS 4.5 is better than native resolution usually.
Just because DLSS 5 has now added things that a lot of people are unhappy about doesn't make the previous versions **** all of a sudden.
Yes there are obviously plenty of issues with motion right now, clear from the way they’ve avoided motion on most of their demos.Timestamped to the important part
DLSS 5 has major issues with motion, way worse than any previous versions of DLSS
I can bet partially it's because the FPS generated by the AI model is pathetic (my bets are on 30) on second 5090, which then requires FG to even reach playable FPS (they already said FG is required). And then they will tell us we need 6k series to go above 60 in games etc. And it was supposed to help speed up games, instead of slowing them down.Yes there are obviously plenty of issues with motion right now, clear from the way they’ve avoided motion on most of their demos.
They should've marked it as tech demo in development and not dlss 5, maybe then they wouldn't get so much backlash - it's clearly not ready for production. They literally did market it as a preview and tech demo.I can bet partially it's because the FPS generated by the AI model is pathetic (my bets are on 30) on second 5090, which then requires FG to even reach playable FPS (they already said FG is required). I am a pragmatist when it comes to AI. Right now I'm splitting my time running my own game studio versus working for a 100% AI fintech startup. Over the last year with the AI startup I've gone from cynical software engineer to grudgingly accepting that AI is increasingly 'good enough' for a lot of stuff with minimal oversight. The CEO is always keen to point out this:I genuinely think they are just going all in on AI. It’s a bubble they can’t afford to burst and now they are shoehorning it in to games in ways that look like crap. Yes it has promise but the backlash of this early preview is totally warranted.
Even looking at the environmental “enhancements” has left me less than the mildly impressed that I was initially.

I'm a software engineer by trade and have run my own B2B software company for the last 10 years now.
That's been precisely my journey and experience also.
It is at least a full year too early and should not have been demoed like as if it's a release ready thing.

It will be ready once the 6090 is out. Am I right?![]()
