DMA Registers Problem

Just changed the heatsink from stock to the Ninja the specs as follows:-

- Abit Fatal1ty AA8XE Motherboard
- Intel Pentium 4 660 "LGA775 Prescott" 3.6GHz

On the motherboard it's displaying "3.9" on the POST code display. In the manual that means - Test DMA Registers

I have really no idea what that means and wonder if anyone could help. Also, there's no display on the monitor, check signal.

Thanks

maybe an IDE device is messing up (DMA i think is realted to those, hence HD's run in UDMA mode etc)- try booting without anything except for gfx, ram, mobo and cpu.

DMA is Direct Memory Access, from the w'pedia :-

"Direct memory access (DMA) allows certain hardware subsystems within a computer to access system memory for reading and/or writing independently of the CPU. Many hardware systems use DMA including disk drive controllers, graphics cards, network cards, and sound cards."

Most likely you've unseated the RAM.
