Hey guys,

We’ve been having a few problems lately with our phone line…

Basically it has become a bit crackly? But it’s been annoying enough to get on to BT about it!

And upon calling them we were told that there is indeed a fault on our line, but they can’t tell us where. It could either be just outside or inside our home – if it’s inside and it’s our fault, they intend to bill us £200 for they’re trouble

It wouldn’t be being caused be the snr tweak on the DMT tool that I use would it

I’ve only dropped it down a couple of notches and it stays pretty steady at about 14 dB. I’m going to unplug all my broadband equipment tonight anyway and just leave the (new) filters attached.

I’d hate to be the one responsible :(

Cheers,

SW.

nope DMT is just software for tweaking your ADSL modem not the line, what BT are on about is if the problem is with your internal wiring (after the BT master socket) then they will charge you for the call out.

Thanks, that's all I wanted to hear :)

I'm pretty sure all our internal wiring is sound, so it looks like it’s a 'real' fault then?

Cheers,

SW.
