Is anyone worried by this? I know I am. I don't like the idea of having my DNA on file. It feels wrong to me, as if it's no longer 'innocent until proven guilty'.

I'm also wondering about the viability of it, and would expect that it will be another governmental IT disaster, probably by bloody EDS again.

I would not willingly give it, under any circumstances, same goes for ID cards.
Yeah, I can see this leading to problems.

But then..if you don't agree to give your DNA willingly (which I certainly won't), then I'll get arrested.. and then.. they'll take my DNA anyway..what a ludicrous situation.

Still its good to see you thinking "But this will make it harder for my terror.... I mean freedom fighting activities :( "
A bit o/t but in the context of the post you responded too..

Would you rather sit back and allow a Nazi style regime come into power? Or become a freedom fighter..?

Happy to donate my DNA if required.
I have nothing to hide.
Think you have nothing to fear or hide?

When the government privatise the database, and that private company starts selling DNA information to insurance companies so they can charge you premiums based on genetic diseases that you don't even know you have yet, you'll have something to worry about.

I don't trust the government with my least, let alone most, sensitive data.
