Can anyone help...

I have registered a domain name with provider A who allows me to do full DNS, Cname, MX record changes etc.
I have a hosting company provider B who I can store a gazillion web pages on etc.

I've configured provider A MX records to go google and the cname entries for google apps but how and what do I do to point Provider A domain name to Provider B hosting?

You'll need to point the www. A record (and probably the root A record, assuming nothing else is depending on it) to the IP address of the server your site is on (provider B's server). :)

Thanks for the quick answer :)

On Provider A under A records I have
Host Name [enter something here].mydomainname.com
IP Address [enter something here]

On Provider B I poked around the control panel and found Website IP: 11.22.33.44

So on Provider A under the Host Name [enter something here] box I put "www" without quotes and under IP Address I put 11.22.33.44

Yep - that will point www.yourdomain.com -> 11.22.33.44.

You might want to put a root record in though (you might need to ask your DNS provider about this, different systems have different ways of adding root records) so that people can visit http://yourdomain.com (no www) and still get your website.

I see what you mean by a root record now, I just tried and I can leave the host name box empty so technically this should work for that.

Time will tell as it updates DNS etc, but hopefully it'll work and thanks :)

Totally random question, but are you the Darren from tsohost? :)
