Hi all,

For the last couple of days my internet drops, can be every few minutes and the browser error always states that it is a DNS error.

I've fired an email off to my ISP but heard nothing back yet.

Is there anyway to test where the problem lies? Not sure if its them or whether its my router etc.

Have you tried using different DNS servers (Google for example:- 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4)?

If you can't override them on the router you can change them on the individual PCs.

Thanks for the advice, I am using a Netgear N150 that I've only had about a year.

Had a response from my ISP telling me that its not a DNS issue but a PPP issue and its a pita!

Nothing has changed in my house to the system, only thing to note is that next door had some work done by BT 3-4 days ago and the issue has only been since then but I can't see why that would effect me.

Those are my router stats, now the upstream line and noise often pop up as 0. and that PPP uptime is rare, normally its about 5-20 mins and can drop every minute. Even when its working facebook, video sites can take ages to load.

I've checked my system and can't find anything wrong.

noise margin on the downstream has now increase to 10.7db..connection speed dropped to 6648Kbps

Last time it did this it ended up slower than dial up, looks like i'll be replacing cables and checking it all again :(

Remove all other phones
Try another ADSL filter
Try another phone cable
Try Google DNS
Try another router
Call ISP
Burn the house down :D
