DNS Server Issues

My exchange server has developed a problem with dns:

I had enabled a second gigabit interface for backup purposes and it points to an internal class c where our vtl and tape drive is located and also our vpn router for offsite backup.

The original interface has remained untouched.

If I do an nslookup on the domain it reports back the following

anydomain.com 192.168.3.3 <external ip address>

Now i've tried removing all evidence of that ip from the zone for that domain, by when I reload it it just comes back.

This issue creates a 15 second lag when accessing the server, but in addition to that, if the traffic passes thru our squid proxy, it fails.

I really don't wan't to disable the interface to the backup as it's kinda important and the tape drive in that system won't hold all the information stores.

Thanks for any help

Dan
