DNS Servers?

Hi, My ISP Is UKOnline and recently i have been having trouble with a few sites not loading, so i changed my dns server to: 212.23.3.100, this has fixed a few probs but some sites i cannot access is this a problem with my dns server? Alo which dns server is the best i could use(My ISP's seems a bit crap).

The best DNS server you can use is your ISP's in theory, it should be the one you get the fastest reply from. Technically, all DNS servers should be the same because they all take a copy from a Master DNS server.

Google for "HOSTS File" and check that you haven't got any bad entries in it. Spyware has been known to block legitimate sites in this file. You may also want to run "ipconfig /flushdns" from a command prompt and see if it does anything.

Hi, thanks a lot for the reply. I pinged several dns servers and used the one with the fastest reply it was:16ms does this sound right? Im on 8mb/768k ADSL max.

Internet browsing has sped up using this server

My UKO DNS Servers have been fine for a while now.
