For a few months I've been streaming the Planet Rock radio station over my works PC and this morning I couldn't get access.
I then checked my email and the Admins reckon they have traced a web browser open to my PC and its causing the system to slow down.
We have about a 1000 PC's where I work and I'm pretty sure one streaming radio won't slow the system down.
So my question is :
Planet Rock streams at 128 so how many meg/hour is that downloading?

56.25MB per hour.

How many other people out of that 1000 will be streaming too?

We had this on our network, we just took away the ability to stream away. No one complained though, maybe that's because they were 'spose to be working?

/edit:
It was especially worse during world cup season, as every man and his dog were trying to watch / listen to games over t'internet.

We weren't very popular after that though.

Its more than I thought. I stream from 7:45am up until 4:15pm which is about 478 meg.

This might sound big headed but I'm probably the only one who's clever enough to think about it and do it. We all know its not rocket science but I work with 5 people who can't even 'operate' Google.

Are you going to quit your Job because of this lolol

It looks like it.
The only way around me quitting my job is if ARGOS hurry up and get a stock of the Pure DMX25 that I'm waiting for.

Streaming for 8.5 hours per day, gives the follow usage:
64kbps = 239.0625 MB/day
96kbps = 358.59375 MB/day
128kpbs = 478.125 MB/day
