I was wondering if games have to be written with SLi in mind, or do all games benefit from it, more specifically, will Oblivion benefit from it? Id ideally like to run it at 1600x1200 and have 2 7800GT's (second one coming tomorrow).

Ill probably do a before and after since the game should turn up then too with a bit of luck :).

They don't "need" to be written with SLI in mind, but those games will benefit more than games that just "work" with SLI.

I have one game on my system that will NOT run at all with SLI enabled, and I have games that slow down with SLI enabled.

Its swings and roundabouts really, but seeing as I can turn it on and off at will in windows, its not a major problem.

Neither, really :) Most games will benefit from SLI (not just because they are written with SLI in mind), however there are exceptions with specific games where it can cause problems.
