Do all Mechanical keyboard's click?

Hey people,

Im interested in a Mechanical keyboard but im rather put off by the loud clicking they seem to make

Does any body know if any of the switch types are quieter than others? Or if there is a near silent one about (normal keyboard noise levels) ?

it depends on what type of switches you have. i cant remember off the top of my head which ones click and which dont but i know there is a fantastic forum post somewhere explaining everything. i'll see if i can dig it up

No they don't all click, they can be quieter than rubber dome based keyboards, if you use a linear switch and touch-type. Indeed the keyboard I use (Noppoo Choc Chip Mini) uses Cherry MX red switches which are very quiet provided you don't bottom out on the keys all the time.
