Do anyones feet/socks ever smell like ammonia

Googled it and did get one or two answers but i would have expected more, some people were even surprised, i guess it's just dead skin/bacteria/old shoes/old socks etc, but even if i've just washed my socks and am walking all day the stench of ammonia sometimes can be overwhelming. It's like somebody has dipped your socks in ammonia/smelling salts.

A cousin of mine had that for a while and it turned out to be new socks that had too much % manmade fibres

got a more natural blend and it went

Had it for years, nothing new, maybe my shoes are just too old.

Yeah, I get it too. Cotton socks and aerated footwear is the answer.

I smell like ammonia when I've been cycling. I don't take on enough water when I ride so I end up smelling like a urinal cake.

All I managed to find out involved drinking more water and I don't think I could take on any more carbs if I tried.

With me though it only happens with vigorous exercise, not just existing. You probably want to watch that.
