do apple wireless mouse work with XP?

I want an apple bluetooth wireless mouse but I have a windows based machine (not a mac), just wondering if it would work. I have a bluetooth adapter.

According to Apple, no it isn't officially compatible with XP. However it does seem to work under boot camp'd XP on a dual booting mac - so maybe there is a way of getting it to work
