Do Asus Allow Cooler Removal ?

Then there is no warranty void problem on your gpu regarding cooler removal, op however has void stickers and that's what the thread discussion is about.

Some of their cards have the sticker some don't for some reason. The 980 ti matrix has a sticker while the 980 ti strix doesn't for example.

Certainly is a strange one, but its a cloudy subject most of the time even without stickers, some don't have void stickers yet the policy is no cooler removal allowed.

The opposite with my MSI card funnily enough, it has warranty stickers on the screws but cooler removal is permitted.

I know, already said that in my op:), but even then someone posted the other day that OcUK were humming n hawing saying MSI might still reject his gpu even though he showed OcUK rma dept MSI's '~cooler removal is ok' links.

ScottiB(I think) who was an MSI rep at the time clarified cooler removal was ok for OcUK customers but that was back in the 79 series days.

Really could do with clarity on OcUK's cooler removal, it's all good stating it's fine when punting them, but an updated post with solid info that can be referenced to the rma dept would clear it up.

Looks to me though that communication should be a lot better instead of it being a bit of a grey area with conflicting stances.:(

Yep, that was me. The first response I had was that I'd just voided my warranty. Then it was ok, we can try to return it but they might reject it.

I'll update the thread with what happens.

I've spent a lot of time testing arguing and explaining exactly what is wrong. It's a real pain when you've just spent a lot of moiney on a new gpu.
