Hi guys.

I'm working in new york next week, got a hire car sorted through the client i work for through Avis - i'm going to try and get an upgrade ( i went for a camaro when i was last here.)

anyone know if Avis do Mustangs? I'll probably give them a call a bit later, was just wondering if anyone knew off hand.

I got a Mustang by pure luck because it was in the parking lot when I picked it up, was a complete base spec model however, so less powerful engine.

None the less, it made my time in the states that much more pleasurable, and whilst yes, statistically it does seem like its a very run of the mill car over there, when driving through and staying in the less touristy or big city type areas, it got a fair few comments.

Think it was Avis that told us we were going to get a Mustang in Vegas, turned out it was a Volvo C70! These companies can have some loose definitions...

I have no idea how Avis attract customers with their ludicrous prices. They're always at least 50% more expensive than their competitors.

How much did you get it for, ramirez?

£415 for 5 days..... it'll end up a bit more than that but the company'll cover most of it :)

Business customers, if someone else is paying who cares how much it costs.

I used to book a Ford Fusion and with a bit of outrageous Britishness when collecting the car I'd normally drive out of Atlanta in a Mustang.

Europcar gave me a 4.6 V8 Mustang Cabrio in Florida this May. It was far cheaper than the competitors.
I was surprisingly disappointed with it and gave it back half way through the rental period.

Bizarrely a Chevy Tahoe!

I found the Mustang really hard to get in to, in fact I split two pairs of shorts getting in! You have to drop under the steering wheel and slide across and with my considerable bulk I found this difficult!
My daughter was so low in the rear seats she couldn't see anything but sky out of the windows and it was so hot that we couldn't have the top down.

I chose the Tahoe as it meant all three of us could sit up front which made for a much nicer holiday.

An odd move from Mustang to huge SUV, but it worked for us.

You must be pretty big mate  this'll be the third year in a row ive rented a mustang and i really cannot say ive ever noticed the access :p

The access is no harder if not easier than most other sporty cars, how do you get into anything?!

Never had a problem before, including a Caterham not that long ago.
Something about the layout of the seats and steering wheel in the Mustang just didn't work for me.
