So I was looking at buying a backplate for my GPU. In the past I've never really thought about it I just always thought backplates where made to make the GPU cooler 
But I notice on Razor GTX Titan / 780 / 770 Backplate
it says "Backplate for reference design GTX Titan,GTX780 and GTX770 cards The backplate helps cool the memory on the back of the card." Have backplates always done this ? Does cooling the memory on the back of the card actually effect performance at all ?
Still going to buy one to make the card look cooler
but would still be nice to know
