Do cyclists have a date with death?

Haven't had time to read the whole thread so sorry is this has been brought up:

What is everyone's opinion on cyclists who are over 18 paying road tax as the use the roads just the same as car drivers or motorbike riders?

Road tax doesn't pay for the upkeep of roads, your council tax does. It's called Vehicle Excise Duty rather than road tax because it's nothing to do with paying for roads. Besides, VED is based on emissions, and bikes don't give any.

It's already been covered at least ten times in this thread.
Cyclists don't emit any C02 so under the current scheme they don't need to pay.
