Do dual monitors effect 3dmark score?

You have 3dmark running on one screen and the other with just the desktop? Then yes as its using some of the resources of everything to display.

Yeah. Will try it later with just the one monitor. Did a benchmark last week when I bought my new 8800GTS 320, only got a score of around 7500. Did a spec comparison on the futuremark site and I'm about 2-3k off target aparently. CoD4/Timeshift/FEAR:Persaus Mandate and Half Life 2 Ep2 all run like a dream tho..... :D

I seem to remember doing some testing on old ATi AGP cards I had and I got into the habit of actually disabling the the 2nd display adapter in device manager as it made a difference (i think?) and even if it didn't I wasn't using it anyway.

best thing to do though is just try it as everyone's set ups are different and newer h/w may not see a difference.

i've set up all my recent single player game shortcuts so that ultramon disables the 2nd monitor when I run them and turns it back on when I'm done playing. I need all the power I can get these days.
