Do DVI to HDMI adapters work?

Just that I am thinking of connecting one of my desktop pc's to a tv. The graphics card only has x2 DVI sockets on it.

Do they work?

or any other options for me?

I've used then to connect a HTPC to a TV for quite some time. As others have said the only thing they don't do is pass through audio so if you use them then you will need to route that through using other means.

Yes they do work perfectly.

If you have an ATi compatible one it'll carry sound too!

Yes they work fine, although my new GPU came with a mini HDMI output that carries sound, but I can't be bothered to re-wire everything as one of these + an optical cable works fine.

A tip for you, I got a DVI to HDMI 10 metre cable for £12 from "an online cataloge retailer that deals with trade" - edit. You can easily pay more than that for just the adapter. DO NOT PAY OVER THE ODDS! Plus with it all being one unit you don't have to worry about the cable popping out of the adapter.

they wouldnt exist if they didnt work... only thing to note is that it loses sound if sent the other way around

they work but some gpus can be picky.
