Do folks still use case

I am one of those that put a case and screen protector on...and I consider myself very careful with my tech, you should see my 20 year old tripod, it's in very good condition! I have a rule about what i put in my pockets, it's been the same rule ever since I have had a phone so this is 2nd nature.

Phone is left pocket, everything else is right pocket. This never gets swapped over, and it would immediately feel strange if the weight is different and changed.

I put a case on because when i put it down on a surface, I don't want to think about "will this scratch it". So I can place it down when sitting in a park, i can place it down on marble worktops. This removes the need for that thought. I also don't mind cases, I even put a note inside the case for emergencies too.

I put a screen protector on, which actually only been on the XR, because after i manage to go from the Original iPhone and iPhone 4 and 3 years into iPhone 6, that was 11 years of iPhone without breaking it, i smashed the iPhone 6 screen. I put a screen protector on the XR and I managed to smash to protector already! But since I have had a protector on, and a case, the phone itself is in great condition! lol

What i am trying to say is....I quite like of look of some cases, more so than the blank canvas of the phone. It's not a NOTHING Phone, it's just a blank space for design for me.

That said. I did like the Apple ring case they did for the iPhone 4 though.

I think one consideration with this is what you plan on doing with the phone. If you’re able to just upgrade when you want and don’t care about getting the best resale value (e.g. just trading it in at Apple or you sell for the lower end of whatever they’re going for used) it doesn’t matter too much if there’s some microscratches or the aluminium is worn in places.

Conversely if you do care about maximising resale value and you know how anal and haggly people are when put something up on the classifieds that doesn’t look like it just came out of the box, then there’s an incentive to baby the phone, perhaps to the extent that you’re willing to sacrifice things like aesthetics and comfort in hand to keep it in mint condition.
