Do I deserve a refund?

Took my car to be gassed up on Friday.

They filled it with nitrogen, said there is no leak and would you like us to continue. ( This nitrogen filling was only 2 minutes long, the vacuuming etc was 30 mins.)

I said yep and away they went.

AC was running great on Friday and throughout the evening.

Come Saturday morning AC is not as powerful anymore and Saturday evening it was barely working. Today nothing, so the gas has leaked out.

Am I within my rights to ask for a refund or a free regas when I have found the issue?

Take it to them, show them how it isn't working.

Show them the receipt and explain that it isn't acceptable.

You sure it was nitrogen? I've never heard of that being used as a refrigerant for AC systems :confused:

Nitrogen is used for pressure test. Aka leak test.

Ahhh, I see.
I'd want a refund for sure but I bet you won't get it. They will say that your system couldn't cope with the pressure of the re-gas and that the seals blew after the filling due to wear/age/monkeys etc.

They will likely say it broke after they did the leak test I imagine. Although, if you unbutton your shirt, show them a hairy chest, they might change their mind.

I would also recommend red lipstick.

As with any problem, don't go in all guns blazing out you'll just get fobbed off.
