so, my 7950 is glitching bad, with a lot of texture issues in games and now to top it off my Prime 95 12 hour overclock now craps out within 2 minutes. I changed ram a few months back, maybe that is it?

I am so sick of all these issues, if it weren't for arma I wouldn't even bother anymore with a PC.

Where do I start to fix this? or do I just live with it and then bin the PC and buy a new one at Christmas for arma3?

Need more info. Change of ram could most defo fubar yor OC

Gfx issues could be overheating or too mych OC.

I think my 680 sli has thrice the gflops of the ps4 so I know where im staying.

What`s your full system specs?

Might be best to try and sort the problem before rushing out and buying a new system.

Overclocks can become unstable over time so maybe all it needs is a slight voltage tweak. As you have changed the ram maybe the new ram needs a tad more QPI/VTT voltage than your old stuff. Have you been getting any bsod's? If so what codes?

i5 2500k @4.7
Asus P8P67-M Pro
2x 4 gb CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8
MSI Twin Forzar 7950 at stock of 960Mhz
Lian Li PC-V354B

Do you have your previous graphics card lying about still? Was the 7950 running ok before you swapped out the RAM? Have you tried just running the PC at stock, without the overclock to see how it runs?

It's a bit of a waste to chuck out the whole PC for the issues...if you do, can I have it? :D

You can't overclock a mac ... and PS4's aren't going to be around for a few months.

Seems so trivial ... just dial back the OC a bit or as users have suggested, go back to stock?

Go back to stock. If you still have issues then diagnose from there.

If not, slowly dial the overclock back in.

Hardware degrades over time and use, so you will need to poke around a little to see what your system can handle.

If you are concerned about your memory causing issues, then start by running Memtest and make sure your OC profile deal with your memory correctly.

I have reset the bios to "optimised defaults" this morning and have left prime95 running while I am at work.

I don't have the old card anymore as I sold it.

Hopefully the system will be stable at stock, then I will have to work out how to overclock it again.

PC gaming and just go mac & PS4?

About 4 years ago i sold my gaming PC and went for a macbook + ps3

my tinkering urge didnt go away and after 18 months they were both sold and i built my gaming pc again :D

PC vs PS4 for gaming? Well, one will give you an over-hyped, joypad-centred, closed eco-system, with the typical Sony promises deteriorating into nothingness over the years.

The other a fully modifiable, customised, upgradable, mouse/KB, backward compatible gaming *and productivity* (if you want) system.

However, many releases on PC will be hampered by Consoles, so its up to you to determine if the PC Exclusives and PC-Exclusive Features, are enough to keep you on board.

If you sell your pc that urge to tinker and build will never go away, I tried it once with just a cheapy small system after going 'off' pc gaming for a while, before I knew it new parts were creeping in before the whole thing was replaced :)

On "optimised defaults" this crappy computer failed prime95 at 4:39h.

Should I hammer it to death?

Seriously, what do I do now? It isn't stable at stock

The graphics card has been sold, the RAM was swapped out around 18 months ago and the graphics card was put in March 2013.

It now fails prime 95 afther 4hrs 39minutes at stock settings.
