When playing some games i notice i get lag, crysis been the worse offender , it it is playable at 1680 1050 res with high settings and aa 16. However it seem to lag at certain areas/points its not constant lag its just like a stutter. It doesnt seem to matter if i turn my graphics down either. It also does this on less powerfull games like world of warcraft.

Other games like grid, ut3 and call of duty 4 seem fine though.

Is there like a program that can monitor everything and point out what your bottle necks are.

my current specs are

Asus P5N32-E PLUS SLi nForce (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

OCZ 4GB (4x1GB) PC2-8500C5 1066MHz SLI-Ready Edition Dual Channel DDR

OCZ GameXStream 700w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Power Supply

Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 "LGA775 Conroe" 3.00GHz (1333FSB) - Retail (overclocked to 3.6GHZ)

BFG GeForce GTX 260 OC 896MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail x2 (also overclocked)

Antec Twelve Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case

Maxtor [STM332082] 300gig hard drive

some cpu z info

Really need help with this its annoying me big style.

Well, you've got GTX260 x2 OCed....
So it must be that.

Did you try with your PC not overclocked at all ?
Like put everything on stock settings, CPU, RAM and GPU.

If it still does happen with everything on stock, try all on stock with just 1 single GPU.

kk thanks will give it a try Didnt expect a responce this late :)

Both graphics cards are overclocked out of the box at the same clock speeds so its my understanding that shouldn't be a problem. And by trying single gpu you mean unplugging it alltogether right.

Ok i tryed crysis again on stock settings i was getting lower fps it seemed, so then i turned the aa off and res down to 800x600 and was still getting the stutter, and my fps didnt see any better. It seems to happen when i turn fast, fps drops crazy. I will try unpluging a graphcis card see if that helps.

the dreaded 3 letter word...SLI. Ill never ever have a 2 card setup again,, they cause nothing but trouble and a waste of money., but thats only my oppion guys.:p

Oh well, did you say it's just in crysis ?

Dont bother then, this game has terribly programmed engine ;).

If it doesnt happen in other games then I wouldnt care.

Starting to think your right jsut had a race on grid 65-100 fps bioshock way over 100 fps, call of duty 4 91 fps , ut3 stable 60 fps.

Aye, as long as it's just in crysis then don't bother with it, it's fine :).

BTW you have wrong memory timings, set it to 4-4-4-12 ;-), maybe even less if the memory is good ( mine does 3-3-3-9 @ 400mhz ).

Just to make sure the GPU is not overheating you can do some artifact scanning and check the temps on it.

Thanks i dont know much about ram and such so will give them timings ago. I noticed my cpu is at 98%-100% a lot while playing games is this normal ?

Can you tell me how to do this artifect scanning

As long as you get good fps and no freezes than that's fine.

Not sure if it will work with nvidia cards but I use ati tools for ATI and watch temps with riva tuner.

Maybe others will have some more ideas.

And about timings it says in CPU-Z next to them which one is it, just so you know in BIOS which ones to change ;-) because there are some more.

Decided to bump this, as i have noticed frame rate drops in more games.

I have noticed them in ut3 as much as 20-30 (when theres a lot going on) quake wars again 20-30. Also tf2 which drops down to 50 from over 100 when theres a lot going on.

Could this be down to a psu problem, as i only have a 700 watt psu, which is powering 2 260 gtxs and 7 case fans. Or am i just expecting too much from my pc?
