So I was given a parking ticket the other day having parked my car at 10.30 at night on the street anyway I was caught on the Tuesday night whereas the sign says that there are no parking restrictions between Thursday and Friday.

My appeal has since got rejected as they sad as there was a yellow sign it means that Parking was suspended. I feel I still have grounds for an appeal as the information they displayed was wrong.

What do people think

Am I misunderstanding something?

The restriction seems to apply blanket from Thursday 20th August through to Friday 11 September.

If you parked on Tuesday 18 August, you should be fine. If it was after that, then you're in the wrong.

If it was after Friday 11 September, e.g. Tuesday 15 September, then you have a case.

No no no no no.

A suspension of parking usually means ongoing work be it repainting bays / lines or road resurfacing etc.

That means absolutely no parking under any circumstances ( unless you have dispensation from the authority involved ) also the sign above No Loading / Waiting indicates that it's a loading ban zone usually marked with double yellows and double kerb markings, those are an instant ticket without the requirement to undertake any observation time.

Pay up and move on.

if he parked there on the 18th then the suspension from the 20th onwards is irrelevant - fact is the OP simply isn't posting the relevant information so we can't really comment on whether he was right or wrong

I think you missed the date he parked there, namely 2 days before the bay suspension was in place :p

Had that work not been ongoing, would you have been entitled to park there at that time?
If so, then I fail to see how they can ticket you for work that was scheduled and signed to start two days later.

No restrictions between Thursday and Friday

You parked on Tuesday

Which means you parked when there were restrictions.
