Do I have a hardware problem?

I recently got a new pc (see sig) and it was fine for the first few days and this morning. Then when I got back from work this evening, I turn the computer on, all that data posts, the Windows XP screen with the loading bar comes up, but the welcome screen nor the desktop will post. It's just a black screen and the monitor clicks as if it's turning off, but the monitor light is still on. I'm in safe mode now, i've tried running the last known good configuration but the same problem occurs. Has anybody got a solution?

I've just done a system restore to yesterday where it was working wonderfully, but still no joy.

Bump

I've looked at the device manager and there's no exclamation marks on any hardware. I'll try the repair feature on the windows xp disk.

*edit - nevermind, I did a system restore to a different date, it's ok now. Windows desktop appeared and said the pc had recovered from a serious error cause in the RAM. It might be an idea to RMA this Corsair kit.
