Do i have a virus?

Hi, im not sure if this is the right part of the forums but do i have a virus? my computer keeps crashing / windows not respond and every time i try to run a virus scan it just comes up error and dont scan i have tryed to do a system restore but it just comes up error. as well and i cant reformatt my hard drive becuase it says windows 7 is on that hard drive and my computer will not work.. im going to be taking it to a local Pc shop at the weekend but i thought i would just ask on here just incase any of you guys know if i do and could help me out Thanks

What brand of pc is it ? e.g dell or is it a custom build.

Download Hitman Pro 3.6.1 takes 5 minutes to do a scan will find anything if there is a virus

its a custom build

i built it about a week ago and all was fine.. untill i missspelt a auction site.. and ended up clicking on one and it came up with chinese writing and my comps been acting up since;(

If that doesn't get it try Malwarebytes in safe mode.

If it's a custom build why not just format and reinstall windows? If it's only a week old you won't lose anything of note.

i have tryed to reformat it but it comes up "remformatting this drive will stop your computer from working" and dont let me do it;(

You don't want to reformat. You want to reinstall windows. Boot from the Windows disc and start again.

Reinstalled win7 and its working again thanks guys=)
