Hi guys,

I m thinking to change my computer because I think I have a bottleneck in my computer...

CPU: Q9550 2,8 @ 3,4Mhz
Main-board: EVGA Ultra SLI 790i
RAM: 8Gb DDR 3 1600Mhz
Graphic Card : 2 X 680GTX *(SLI)
Monitor: Asus VG278HE 27" LED 3D 144Hz
PSU: Aerocool Strike-X 1100w Modular
HD: 2Tb
SDD: 120

What do u think? Shall I change CPU , Mainboard and RAM? or its fine?

Thanks in Advance.

Meant to be a good CPU, but will certainly bottleneck 680 sli. My i7 920@4 did, and I saw a big jump in minimums going to SB-E.

It is time for you to upgrade if you are trying to get the best from your 680 sli.

Yes you need a new CPU, motherboard and RAM.. You also need a cooler to overclock you're new chip..

Massive bottleneck there, im pretty sure it would bottleneck 1 x 680 let alone two.

Yeah you have a massive CPU bottleneck there as other's have said if your on a budget I would look at getting a 3570K second hand maybe and a new motherboard.

Also you have a 144Hz monitor...even with my i5 2500K overclocked to 4.6GHz, it still bottleneck my overclocked 5850 in some games and struggle to hold solid 100-120fps (with GPU usage not at 99%) on my 120Hz monitor.

Regardless of how quick your SLI GTX680 is, the problem is that your CPU would only be able to deliver low 20fps to average 35-50fps in most more recent games...

Overclocking your CPU further might help a bit, but the difference it makes would be too insignificant, considering it still very far behind the fps that the SLI GTX680 is capable of chucking out. Definitely time for upgrading. IMO, you should had have went with the 2nd GTX680...even a single GTX680 would had been getting bottlenecked by your CPU.
