Hi all, I am looking to do a huge upgrade and was wondering if my Enermax Noisetaker 430w? will be enough to power the following: I think mine is 430 didnt think it was 485 as thats close to 500:S though ill double check tonight.

E6600 Conroe
Some fancy mobo
2gb gskill
X1900 512mb
Prob Artic CPU freezer as the XP120 is a ()*#)("* to fit / unfit
couple of case fans
DVD writer

I am not going to do any Insane OCing but if i didnt do a lil OC i wouldnt be doing the Conroe and gskill any justice :D

thing is, i dont wanna order it all and have that shiny glee in my eyes then hit the power switch and nowt happen :( That would be soul destroying lol. Even though i could get next day deilvery on a PSU lol.

Whats the general PSU that ppl get for OCing? 600W? I am tempted to push it hard hehehe.

Agreed,seasonic is very good,as is enermax,tagan,fsp,ocz & antec.

Anything in the region of 600w from any of these manufacturers will do you for a long time to come

I use a OCZ GameXtream 600w & can't fault it.quad rails etc & is rock solid ;)

curious it seems only Antec to a "silent" PSU with modular cables. Why is that? I quite like the idea of only plugging in the cables you need.

but i guess if i get an Akasa Eclipse 62 or something i read there is plenty of room behind the mobo tray to hide wires.

X1900 512mb << 500+watt is recomended with this

if buying new psu would say get 600w+.
w8 on OC getting more OZ or FSp power supply's in stock, these 2 seem 2 best about , what i have read in reviews on them .

cheers for the tip. I have been holding on purchasing for a LONG time well for an avid gamer anyways lol. and my x800 is slowly biting the dust, its AGP too hence the full overhaul.

I'm in the same position, northwood p4 3.1ghz and x800. My psu is only 335W so the big overhaul is on the card!
