I'm looking to upgrade my HD5770 to something a bit more powerful. I've settled on a GTX660 card as the best card for my budget but I'm concerned i'd need to uprate my psu as well.

I have a 520W Corsair HX psu powering:
Core i5 2500k cpu
2 x mechanical harddrives
1 x ssd
1 x optical drive
1 HD5770 GPU

Any advice welcome

in the £100-£150 range you are looking at:

Nvidia 660 or 750ti

Ati 270

Like the post above I would say a 270 will be more powerful in most games, however if you are an NVidia fan and want to stay with the green team a 660 is a capable card.

Thanks for the replies, I'll look into the 270 cards as there doesn't seem to be much in it price wise. I'm not loyal to any brand, generally going with what's best at the time.

Well, if you dont mind going second hand, i recall some cheap 3gb 580's knocking about in the MM. These have about the same grunt as a 7950, maybe more because they are lightnings so come with a small overclock, with Nvidia features over AMD. I cant remember their price but it was at the lower end of your bracket.

Your access depends how long ago you hit 250 posts.
