Do I have my 4670k safe?

Ok I got in and ran a 4.3GHz test for 15min and the max temp was 71 degree. I then changed to 4.4GHz and after about 3mins into the test it bluescreened (WATCH TIME OUT).

I switched back to 4.3GHz that passed for 15min but I tried playing League of Legends and my FPS went from 300+ to 35.. I take it this means 4.3GHz isn't stable either?

(I went back to 4.2GHz and League ran at 350FPS)

If I was to start reducing vcore, how much should I reduce at a time?

Lol funny you should say that, I was going up in 0.005 and they were all bluescreening, but the second I tried 1.225v on 4.4GHz the 15min test passed with a max temp of 76 degree.. (also ran LOL and during chaotic team fight I was getting 200-400 FPS :) )

So should I run this setting for an 8 hour test and if it passes I can assured its a stable build to keep? If it fails then I need to go down to 4.3GHz and try going up to 1.225?

You could, it's a tad warm but not crazy.
Maybe try and refine the voltage down a tad more using a smaller increment.

The trick to finding a stable voltage is to use larger bumps, then progressively lower the voltage for a more favourable temperature.

So you've bumped it 0.25 and it's ok so drop it to a 0.1 bump? If it crashes bump it to 0.2, if it's ok, try 0.15 etc. Until you narrow down the sweet spot with an acceptable temperature.

I started running the 8 hour test but it blue screened.. And like you say I don't want to add any more volts as its getting warm.

I dropped down to 4.3 @ 1.125 and so far that has passed the 15min test @ 73 degree.. I will try this in a full 8 hour test overnight... if its the same problem then looks like 4.2GHz is the most I can go with this cooling.

4.3GHz at 1.225 passed a 8 hour test at max temp 75.

So now I know I can get 4.3 but 4.4 is going to require too much volt and heat I would think..

I will test this setup with a few games then gradually try increasing the uncore as I know I won't get the volts down too much if it was blue screening on 1.200.

Cheers

In terms of uncore.. should I just keep volts on auto and raise GHz or should I manually set volt?

Im assuming your uncore volt cannot go higher than core volt

Requesting some fine tune overclock settings on my system.
Intel i5-4670K
Asus Z87-A
CPU cooler Noctua NH-U9B SE2

Do i need to post a new topic or can i use this?
I think its about the same "topic" and also the same CPU.

My goal is to decrease max CPU temp.
Dont know if i can go lower with current setup.
Running 4.3ghz 2.3v with 2000mhz ddr2 overclock and XMP profile.
Max temperature ive seen is around 80-83 celsius

I have bios settings screenshots and also realbench, maxmemm and cinebench results.. also with hwmonitor temps.
