Last thread from me today I think, its getting late!

However I have a query..

I recently bought some extra RAM for one of my servers at home, and it was genuine HP RAM which is all I would buy for this particular set up.

BUT.. the RAM thats in there is all Samsung branded Genuine HP sticks with a nice green PCB and Samsung stickers and memory chips.

This HP extra DIMM I bought is Hynix, and is blue instead of green.

How many of you would return it and try and get the exact RAM match for your system? I.e the green PCB'd Samsung RAM?

Would most of you not give a flying u know what?

Lastly is this the definition of OCD?
 
So its reasonable for me to want all the RAM sticks to be identical samsung modules, with the same colour PCB?

I mean surely I would sound like a nutter if i asked to return it and said "er yeah, the RAM is blue Hynix, and I want the green Samsung stuff" ?

I would do exactly what you want to do and try and get the Samsung, but I believe I have OCD in a few areas of my life but I actually like what it makes me do most of the time, apart from when I had a little scratch on the base of my MBP that niggled at me so much I had to buy a new one :(
