Hey all. I just got myself a Nikon D3200, which is my first "real" camera, and definitely my first DSLR. It came with the 18-55mm VR II kit lens (didn't know I got the 2nd edition, which is collapsible, with the D3200; I thought it was D3300 only....anyway..). I plan to add two lenses in the next month or so, which will be the Nikon 55-330mm f/4.5-5.6 VR and the Nikon 35mm f/1.8 prime lens.
I want the 55-300mm as I love aviation so I know I'm going to need to range. Similarly, I'd like to shoot cars (maybe some motorsport too) which, again, seems to require the range.
Is this a decent range of lenses to have whilst starting out? When I have the kit lens set to 50mm it seems a little too close for general purpose shooting, hence me wanting the 35mm (I understand crop factor makes this equivalent to ~42mm on a full-frame camera).
