I have Be quite fans and when fitting to rads because of the round frame i thinking there will be a lit od air leakage, with the fans been low RPM i thinking there very wrong for someone withing to run silent..

i have 2 x 120mm be quiet shadow wings 2
and 2 x 140mm be quiet silent wings 3

would i be better with a different fans type or am i just overthinking stuff

They'll work but they won't be as efficient as square ones, my last aio was bequiet... I don't know exactly how much difference though, so test and see if you're ok with noise/temps/performance etc. Your thinking about air leakage is right essentially, you want to be pushing the air through the rads rather than letting it leak out of the sides.

I'm personally using 120mm noctua chromax black swap on my rad, they come with a little rubber gasket to help seal stuff (it's not a great seal imo but it's better than nothing)... they're 'noisier' than I was expecting for something which is highly regarded for being quiet though, personally feel my old bequiet were 'better'....

If you want to keep with bequiet I'd be looking at silent wings 4 pro personally and adjusting speed/fan curve to suit your taste/performance levels.

Overthinking and correct in the same question.

Technically a square frame fan will be better for the reasons you mention.

Overthinking in the differences will be so minimal, it would not be worth the cost to replace.

I would keep the Silent Wings

I disagree, with the round frame that would be a LOT of leakage and therefore turbelence, so WILL have a meaningful effect. I guess you could make some sort of radiator shroud, used to be pretty common to see those back in the day. Not so common anymore.

+1 Noctua, expensive but quiet and engineered to last. Have some in my main rig where I use static pressure focused ones on the rads and airflow versions where not going through rads. Running for about 5 years and no difference in performance and sound levels.

I used to use silicon radiator shoruds that sealed all the fans to the rad and saw much better performance than without and that was with normal square framed fans that fitted fairly closely. Was easily a couple of degrees...
