Do I have to use 8 Pin (CPU Power / P4) and 4 Pin connector or just one?

Hi all,

I just changed my PSU.

my X570 motherboard has a 8 pin socket and 4 pin for CPU power.

Do I have to connect just the 8 Pin? or both? as my PSU just has two 4 pin plugs which kinda click together and fit into the 8 Pin connector

Thanks

I connected mine even though I don’t overclock. Figured if the connector is there I should use it. I do run a 5950x though. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Just the 8 pin for general use, you only need to plug the additional 4pin in when going to high end overclocking.

When i first built my Ryzen PC i used both the 8 pin and 4 pin, but when i added the AIO cooler i used just the 8 pin and for my use i noticed no diffence.
