I also had a little buyers remorse immediately after buying my new intel laptop before I even received it because I didn't realise the mobile CPU's were also affected by the microcode issues. I did some research and I'm fairly confident now that because the laptop was brand new and the bios was updated straight away that it's got the best chance possible of surviving long term.

I normally buy used hardware for the most part but I wouldn't buy a used intel 13th/14th gen laptop if it was purchased before the microcode update.

Which is great but I'd be just be a bit wary that the degredation has already started due to the voltage spikes pre update.

As i only do video work and not for games only was told new laptops about to to come out and the price of mine in 3 months time could be hard to sell
if i decieded to buy an updated with the 70 80 90 eqiv GPU
BUT AFTER WATCHING SOME YOU TUBE VIDEOS THESE COULD Actually be a step down
but happy at the moment as in davinci rendering gone from 180 to sometimes 400 which is an enormas improvment
as often i get over 40 / 70 hours of video to split render and upload
but do like the idea of the same as mine 16 screen but with a 4080 card for 12tb of memory
did get mine with 400 off with a special 2 year warranty

so amd is a lot better and reliable
as my 7950 4080 desktop been working 24/7 without a hitch

I actively dislike Asus too as I've had bad warranty experience, I've also had some very very good products so I've not been able to bring myself to bin them altogether.
