do i leave fill port open for bleed?

hi,
I have just set up my first water build

and am currently doing a leak test and was wondering do i leave the fill cap off while i run it in to let any air to escape?

P.s its a xspc dual bay res+pump combo

You don't have to, but I tend to leave it open as I'll continually top it up as the air bleeds out.

I keep mine open so I can be quick with the water. Lost my first pump when it ran dry whilst bleeding. (It wasn't very happy and lasted a week longer)
