Do I need 1:1 pixel mapping?

I'm looking at getting a Sony Bravia KDL-32V4000 from eBay.

It does not have 1:1 pixel mapping via HDMI and it only does pixel mapping via VGA which my graphics card does not have (AMD 7950).

I know I am able to set a custom resolution to match the TV which I believe is 1366x768 with my card, but even so I am guessing I will still have black borders as there is no pixel mapping?

Can anyone confirm that this is correct?

I think the only trouble with that would be that the picture wouldn't be very sharp as its not native?

It is very close to me so I can pick it up for a good price.
