Do i need a 4pin fan connector for cpu header?

Just wondered as the fans i'm looking at for my H50 are 3 pin. Can i just connect one of the 3 pin fans to the cpu fan header even though it has 4 pins?

yeah will be fine, cant remember what the 4th lead was for, is it for speed adjustment?

4th pin is used for controlling the fan Via PWM, you'll be fine running a 3 pin fan although a fan that makes use of PWM will be a lot quiter when its not under load.

Great stuff cheers, well i've ordered a couple of Scythe kaze jyuni 1900rpm now for push/pull so hopefully they'll bring down my temps a bit. Not too fussed about noise really as long as my cpu runs cooler :cool:
